Day 3: London

This morning started with a subway ride to get to Kensington Palace.  Outside the palace was another statue of Quenn Victoria.  They sure love her!

Here's the Palace.

There wer lovely gardens around the palace, but we didn't have time to tour them.  Plus, since it was December, they weren't at their best.

After touring the Queens staterooms, the kings staterooms, the fashion exhibit about queen Elizabeth, Princess Margaret and Princess Diana, and the exhibit about queen Victoria, we were able to finally take a ride on a famous double decker bus!

We got off at Trefalger square where we had been on Tuesday and found a nice restaurant to eat at.

We then continued to walk down the street and got a closer look at Parliment.

Right across the street from Parliment is Westminster Abbey.

The pictures of Westminster don't do it justice.  It's huge!  We took an audio tour of th Abbey which lasted about 90 minutes.  Unfortunately since it is a church, they don't allow pictures inside.     We left the church around 4:00. Here is a picture of Westminster from the main entrance.

It was too late to go to the other church we wanted to visit, St. Paul's.  Maybe next trip.  We took the subway back to our hotel to freshen up, had dinner and took the subway back into central London to see the play Billy Elliot.  It was a great end to not only our day, but our visit to London.

Next up: travel day to Munich.
