Day 2: London

We must have been tired since we slept till 10!  This was past when we needed to be up.  We rushed to get ready, called for a taxi and quickly made it to Buckingham Palace.

We went to watch the changing of the guards ceremony, but couldn't see in the gates because of the crowds.  We did see the troops as they left.  I'll try and upload a video after I figure out how to.

After the changing of the guards we walked towards Parliment.

What's that on the left?

Big Ben, of course.

Apparently they have these statues of Paddington Bear all around town.  Here is just one.

From here we ate lunch at an English Pub.  I, of course, had fish and chips.  Pretty good.  We then walked to the Churchill War Room.  I don't have any pictures from here, but his is the under ground bunkers where Churchill and the English directed WWII.

We left the war room and went to the Horse Guards.  We walked by 10 Downing Street, but because of security, you can't walk in front of it.  We watched the dismounting ceremony.

We then walked to Trafalgar Square.  Sorry, no pictures.  And then we walked to Leicester Square to go to M&M world! M&M Mania to fill your bag with different colored M&Ms!

Now it was time to go to the London Eye.  We walked across the Golden Jubilee Bridges to get to the other side of the Thames where the eye is located.

It takes 30 minutes for the wheel to go all the way around.  We had great views of the London Skyline. My iPhone didn't take very good pictures from the eye.  But here is one looking straight down.  Those are the light sidewalks below.

We then walked over the Westminster Bridge. This brought us by Parliment and Big Ben again.

I have a video of Big Ben chiming at 7:00.  Again, after I figure out how to upload videos, I'll insert it.

We finished up the night have dinner in a pub across the stree from Parliment then took the subway back to our hotel.  We got back around 9:00 tonight.
