We got up a little earlier today than yesterday to catch our train to Paris. We learned from our mistake on the London-Paris train and brought our own breakfast since there really wasn't anything breakfasty on that train.
There is a saying that things happen in 3's. Well our train curse kicked in for the third straight day. We left Munich on time, but shortly after departing we pulled into another station where we wer not supposed to stop. Upon stopping the conductor informed us there were signal issues further ahead and we needed to wait for them to be fixed. About 20 minutes would be needed. Well 50 minutes later we left the station! At least we don't have to arrive in Paris at a certain time nor did we have to switch trains. We will just call this time "extended nap time."
We had additional delays during the rest of the trip. We arrived in Paris 1 hour and 15 minutes late :-(
We took a quick taxi ride to our hotel, settled in and had a bite to eat in the hotel bar. Then a quick walk down the end of the street to see the Eiffel Tower.
After another cab ride, which was not so quick because of the Paris drivers blocking intersections, we arrived just in time for our City Lights bus tour. It wasn't exactly what we were expecting, but we did get a good overview of he city and got to see pretty scenes. We decided to walk back to the hotel to take better pictures of the city lights than we could from the bus and also to get some good night pictures of the Eiffel Tower.
